Double Curtain Tracks

Create a layered effect with two different curtain fabrics to regulate heat and light, provide privacy, or create mood and texture.

Double curtain tracks allow you to have sheer, light, medium, or full weight curtains layered on the same window to ensure privacy, insulation, and light control.

If chosen, the cord drawn track will be the track furthest from the window. If you would like to change this, please ensure you contact us before placing your order. 

Track Fixing Options

Mixed Full Weight & Light Weight Tracks with 100mm Brackets

Choose this Fixture Type if you want to have sheer or lightweight curtains nearest the window, such as for sun protection for furniture or privacy during the day. 

Double Full Weight Tracks

The Mactrac Deluxe Full Weight track is best suited for medium to heavy weight curtains. The deep profile of our Deluxe track makes it our most durable and versatile track. It is also the preferred track for bending requirements, if needed. Our tracks are designed to ensure that the glides from which the curtains hang from have minimal surface touch, this ensures a low friction, quiet, and smooth operation. Having a double set of full weight curtains can provide a very luxurious look.

Choose the longer brackets (125mm) for thicker, heavier window/wall side curtains.

The track is supplied assembled, pre-drilled complete with nylon ring glides (NRS5) 16 per 100cm of track; nylon end stops (NES4); screws, brackets as specified and draw cord if chosen.

Draw Cord Options

For those selecting Cord Drawn options, the standard cord drop is 1250mm, let us know if you require a different length. Draw Cord location (left or right) is from the perspective as you face the curtains from the room. For tracks without a cord (a cheaper option), please leave the default selection of "Hand Drawn (No Cord)".

The prices shown here are for draw cords only for the front / room facing curtains. If you want pulls for both the front and the back curtains, please contact us for pricing details.

Mactrac Track information

Mactrac is made from premium quality extruded aluminium. The profiles and components are strong, versatile, and most importantly, they perform – year after year. In fact, our track is specified in so many projects throughout New Zealand that we are proud to be able to say that Mactrac is the architect’s choice.

Components

• All sets are supplied complete with 16 glides per metre, fixing screws and end stops. 
• Nylon glides aid the aluminium's low corrosion levels.

Pricing

• Track lengths are rounded up to the nearest 250mm (25cm) increment for pricing purposes.

Options

• Bending
  We can bend tracks to cater for most requirements. Talk to us about your specific needs and we can advise on options.
• Colours
  Standard finishes are satin silver anodised, white powder coated, and Titania. If you have a particular Dulux colour you would like to match, we can powdercoat your track for a flat fee (Contact us). For satin silver tracks, complementary brackets are powder coated 'Venerable Silver' from Dulux's ELECTRO® range.
• Parts
  Replacement parts are available (see Replacement part section below).

If you place your order online, these set numbers are determined for you as you choose your components. However, if you need to discuss options with our customer service team, it's usually easier to discuss the options in terms of Sets.

Sets 15 & 32 - Mixed Heavy Weight Room Side & Sheer/Light weight Window Side with 100mm Brackets

If you have easy access to your window and want to have a sheer / net curtains on the window side and fuller curtains on the room side, then this is the best option for your needs. The narrow 100mm brackets will use a minimum amount of space in your room and make your curtains look fuller as they may slightly bunch up against each other being so close on the rails.

If you want to have a corded room-side curtain, then you may choose to have this set corded, but this is only recommended if your room-side curtains are light to medium weight so they open smoothly. Otherwise, choose the 125mm brackets to give your inner curtains more space for a smoother corded experience.

Sets 16 & 33 - Mixed Heavy Weight Room Side & Sheer/Light weight Window Side with 125mm Brackets

Using sheer curtains can provide added privacy and UV protection for your furniture. However, if your curtains are behind a couch or table, then access for hand-drawing them can be limited. In this situation, it's best to have a corded option to open the thicker, inner curtains during the daytime leaving your net curtains to protect your room from UV.

This set's longer brackets provide a smoother corded experience as there is more space between the two curtains, so there is less friction to overcome between the curtains. If you have access to this area, then the non-corded, hand-drawn option is a more cost effective option (Set 16), and larger rooms won't notice the slightly increased space taken up by the curtains hung with longer brackets.

Sets 13 & 34 - Double Deluxe Full Weight Tracks with 100mm Brackets

Deluxe full weight curtain tracks can hold almost any thickness of curtain, and with a double track, a very plush look can be achieved. The closeness of the curtains with the 100mm brackets make the curtains look even thicker than they would if they weren't so close to each other. This system works best with lighter weight to mid-weight curtains, unless you don't mind the added friction of having your curtains so closely spaced.

The corded option involves only the front curtain, or you can contact us to upgrade to having pulls for both sets of curtains. The picture above shows Set 34 with Double Pulls.

Sets 14 & 35 - Double Deluxe Full Weight Tracks with 125mm Brackets

Deluxe full weight curtain tracks can hold almost any thickness of curtain, and with a double track, a very plush look can be achieved. The distance between the curtains is larger with the 125mm brackets making the curtains slide more smoothly with less curtain to curtain friction when opening and closing your curtains. This system can handle having two thick curtains opening up the possibilities of very elegant styles.

The corded option involves only the front curtain, or you can contact us to upgrade to having pulls for both sets of curtains. The picture above shows Set 14, which is the hand-drawn option for this track set.
